If you are regularly or in any meaningful fashion giving free labor (aka sweat equity) to the IRA, that would be a clear violation and something that could draw the ire of the IRS in the event of an audit.  

This could help you find areas where there will be a greater likelihood of meaningful appreciation as opposed to just the cash-flow game from depressed purchase prices (a lot of Ogden).

Zimbabwean example is less meaningful due small scale of the economy.For now most of central bank are in the unofficial agreement to hold their currencies within agreed range.

Favorable business conditions and a reasonable cost of living are largely driving growth.It's the tertiary markets: midland/Odessa, eagle ford, etc that will be impacted in a meaningful way by oil prices.

After that, my advice is once something sparks your interest, dive in hard.  

Some, who run mortgage pools, might ask for these to show their investors they are performing proper due diligence, whether truly meaningful or not.
