Elvia, the last time this came up for us in Bolingbrook, the village reported that theyhave adopted the 2006 International Property Maintenance Code guidelines on this, it boils down to 70 sq. ft. of bedroom space per occupant.

I had a house sit for almost 7 weeks because the village required a permit and it took me that long to get a licensed plumber that would give me an estimate and put me on the schedule.

My personal experience with rentals in Hot Springs Village is that it is no problem renting in the spring, summer and fall but finding qualified renters in the winter is a bear.There are a number of REIA's, Meetups and Landlord Associations throughout the state.
