Talk to insurance brokers, they know the ins and outs and are impartial/unbiased. 

Trey Welcome to the site Trey.When you are buying an investment property out of state it is paramount that you do a few things.Get a 3rd party inspection - There is absolutely no substitute for a completley unbiased trained professional spending 3 hours going over the home with a fine toothed comb.Get an appraisal - Bonus points if you get the appraisal because your lender required you to do so.

My advice is to talk to an unbiased property manager and get their input on the area, the types of tenants you could attract  and how difficult they feel the management would be.

If you will be long distance, ask the realtor for a property management recommendation - probably outside the firm, so it is unbiased.  

And, BP allows me to have wonderful unbiased advice from folks around the country that might produce something even the master haven't considered, you know?
