We have a friend (who just sold their restored farmhouse on 30 acres) who had to dig out & install a retaining (fiber-cloth covered) trench for $4500 that has absolutely no function except it's NOW code for all septics systems.The sale triggered the town insisting on the upgrade.

Not that people need to live on hot dogs and spaghetti but when the tenant is still short, it's hard to really love seeing those dietary life/spending/prioritizing decisions...just...staring...you...in...the...face.

If you know you have asbestos tiles in the kitchen you have to let your tenant know so they're not releasing fibers with sandpaper etc.
