The insurance breed restrictions came about after breed bans, when plaintiffs used discriminatory laws to go after the insurance companies for bigger sympathy payouts.

Maybe saying we didn't buy right would be more apt- I acted as my own property manager, which evolved into me feeling sympathy for my tenants.

I don't have too much sympathy for those who pay big money to be "educated" and then feel bad when they're not an instant millionaire after the seminar is over...

Evictions were difficult because the courts had sympathy.

But due to the fact the repair guy was inept I have more sympathy for the tenant, though if there wasn't any food in the fridge initially, that's strange (unless it had been days and was already spoiled). 

My sympathies.

I think this is a huge  problem with this country in the lack of severity in this department so your not going to get any sympathy from me.

It's a nicety to send a sympathy card and/or flowers. 

Starting your story with "tenant who is mexican" probably isn't going to earn you much sympathy - there's a concept called Fair Housing....
