Like you're pointing out, it's nice to find a location that's early in that cycle.For most STR buyers here in Colorado, your motivation better be as-much-or-more to have a place to visit in the mountains because you're cash-flowing a little but nothing spectacular.

Please stop asking us for "the best" zip codes to invest in.Detroit has around 183 Residential Neighborhoods - wouldn't it be nice if "some proprety mangagement company" Classified them all as A, B, C, or D on an interactive map that real estate investors could use to make better decisions?

I hear this even in popular podcasts like Thanks for Visiting where they recently have been interviewing very seasoned, successful MTR hosts and keep asking 'but what about the risk of squatters??'

Current timeline to purchase is probably 6-12 months as I start narrowing down and visiting some of the places to get a better idea over the next few months.

Sometimes you will get a seller who comes back and declares they want off of the loan, or a nasty letter from an attorney saying that you ripped off their client, or a letter from the State Attorney General that you get to visit them in their office.

Hello Satish- the greater Banner Elk area does have a lot going for it and the right property should provide you excellent income and a potential nice getaway spot. 

About 10 properties in  2 weeks.I visited  Cleveland in May 2023.
