You were not afforded a reasonable (in most states, 30 days) amount of notice to re-market your property. 

It seems you and your husband have the ability to make a property more desirable and I would try to stay local for the same reasons you listed. 

This is important for the reason statted above, you need a penalty that is not eviction.
