I have excellent credit rating, and only 1 CC left to pay off (~$6k); for the HELOC amount I am targeting, Affinity FCU (2.99% first 12 months, Prime after) and Santander (3.99% first 12 months, Prime -.75%) are the front runners, however I am looking for other banks that could have better rates.

My front runner right now would probably be Austin, TX, but I've also considered Los Angeles, Cleveland and Ithaca.I'm a bit overwhelmed with it all and don't really know how to go about narrowing down which city to look in.Thought?

Prescreening is why I am asking for recommendations here as the original front runners that I found have been ruled out due to various deficiencies that made them unacceptable (none of the reasons were cost)…
