As someone with a background in computer security: Your instincts regarding the insecurity of sending private information via email are good.Never send anything via email that you wouldn't feel comfortable mailing on a postcard unless you use a specialized encryption tool that encrypts data while in transit (you'd know if you were, because they're typically hard to set up and a pain to use).

I respect that real estate professionals and bankers will be the last on the planet to believe that a fax machine provides more security than the worlds best encryption (even though routinely there documents are sent to wrong numbers by human error) but why in 2020 are we pushing people off a mobile app onto a web viewer to read stuff?

I've also received texts 'from' the USPS or UPS saying they are holding a package from March or April.Be careful out there everyone👍 I used to push back on the encrypted stuff from my bank and from escrow.. but not anymore I conform when needed..

Yes, I'm sure it's encrypted, but most people's online passwords are either easy to guess or can be hacked as well.
