My advice would be not to be pound foolish and penny wise, spend the money now and sleep safer. 

If some buyer comes up and wants a 7.5 to 8 cap I would tell them to pound sand.

We use tools such as these (any manufacturer/brand) and a mallet to pound them into fully locking.
