Closet not always necessary: While a closet is often considered a bedroom feature, it's not always required by building codes to classify a room as a bedroom.

We don't do closets for better air flow and less chance of mold.

After that, I got a large dog crate and set it up in the master walk-in closet. 

If you can reasonably throw up a new wall and closet, turning a 3 bed into a 4 bed, that is a great place to start, but only if it works for the property and you have at least 2 full bathrooms.  

I made the layout more user friendly, added a whole wall of closets in the main bedroom, totally gutted kitchen and bath.
