Here are my notes from my travels and subsequent research:Most common areas to travel to/invest in: Ambergris Caye/San Pedro/Isla Bonita (by far the most popular and most developed tourist area, made famous by Madonna with her 1987 hit "La Isla Bonita"), Caye Caulker, Placencia, Corozal, Cayo District Areas to avoid: Belize City (the only actual "city" in Belize, it was mostly destroyed by a hurricane in 1961 and never really got rebuilt despite still being the main population center.

Then it was designated as wetlands & the value of the land dropped to zip & they are now stuck with it including taxes based on an inflated assessment.But on the positive side the 39 acres immediately behind us, that was sold for $2mill for a huge subdivision, was subsequently designated as wetlands so they cannot build on it but it's great for breeding mosquitoes.
Ron Thomas House prices will never outpace inflation over time, its impossible.

But the appraiser may not look up or have limited building experience....You hear of instances where a disgruntled buyer (mostly cash buyers) goes after an appraiser if their appraisal was materially different from a report subsequently ordered by the lender and that caused a deal to stall.
