That's because the combustion byproducts are in a gaseous form, so the gases can float up through the flue pipe and out of your roof.If your furnace has an AFUE rating of 90 percent or above, it will have a flue pipe that goes out of the side of your house.

My typical terms were 5 - 6% interest rate, fixed for 5 years and then floating with prime (some of my loans reset with each change and one resets once per year on the anniversary date).  20 year term.Hope that helps!

Don't get me wrong, @Conor Kelly has a point that $300 cashflow vs paying a couple hundred bucks to float a property isn't a huge difference.

Some items that are hard lessons learned that I have been paying attention to as I learn about REI are as follows;Insurance can be incredibly slow to pay out (we are still displaced from our home and not able to pay for both rent and a mortgage out-of-pocket anymore)Federal programs that should be there in times of need like this may not be (FEMA won't help until the insurance claim is finished and those I know who flexed the SBA loans to help float them until insurance paid are wishing they hadn't)The timelines for repairs, availability of repairmen, and cost of materials has skyrocketed around here.Local businesses have closed because their employees left the area and there weren't enough people to keep the doors open.

@Justin Sullivan Unfortunately multiple trips are not an optioned...more then maxed my vacation days this year and working also in AEC have to tend to my boss clients here in NYC..some of which floated the idea of firing us for similar reasons :) ...the college kid is an idea I like a lot...especially since there are both architecture and civil engineering dept in that university...will make sure to give them a visit on my next visit.
