I would definitely make sure you give yourself twice as much time to unload the property and find out who is building or taking on large developments at your local REIA.

Lastly, we are in a sellers market in most of the country and from the way things are looking, we may not be in a sellers market for a whole lot longer so you might be stuck spending thousands of dollars hoping that appreciation helps you out, only to see that you have to unload the property for less.

There are alot of reasons why prices are going up, but predominantly low interest rates = higher prices that someone can afford to purchase a home, coupled secondly with "low inventory" when covid was here and noone wanted to list there home out of fear ( both from having to go into the external world and having people come into their home ), and third but most recently surging lumber prices.
