This has compounded the big commercial investments I've mentioned which already caused an increased police and security presence.

BUT only work with them if they have a local presence and you can go to their office, get referrals, see deals that they have funded and are in process.

With hurricanes down south, fires up north, Thomas fires and ICE increasing its presence in Los Angeles in 2018.

You'll find that metro Detroit has a strong presence on the site.

I only hire the Tenant if a local presence is advantageous and I can get the labor for a discount.Personally, I would notify all the renters that they need to do a better job of taking care of the trash and cleaning up after themselves.

Ultimately, I'd suggest just joining up with a brokerage that has more of a state/national presence like eXp or Keller Williams, rather than a local indie brokerage and you should be fine.

And I love the constant police presence in the area as you can see the city wants to clean things up.  

If you want a local presence I'd say find a local title company and ask them - not a national title company with a local office. 

We have a presence in Brandon, so a quick trip out there is half a day at least. 

They are of course bound by the same rules I would be,    but they have access to full credit reports (I was never certified for that) and can advertise to a greater pool of customers than myself,   and the presence of a professional manager will deter some "professional bad tenants" who try to take advantage of smaller self-managing landlords.
