@Dev Horn a REIT is indeed similar, you might say that investing on a real estate crowdfunding platform is more like creating your own REIT because you get to pick individual projects to put your money into, whereas with a REIT you get no say.

If I were to spend the same amount of time on my house flipping business as I do on my educational platform, I would be WAY better off financially, but then again I love what I do and love educating, and actually wouldn't meet nearly as many people amazing people as I have that I now work with so maybe my statement is inaccurate.
