Developer may have had good intentions in the beginning, but too often seem like they run out of money before they can fulfill promises.  

I'm now thinking seriously about how real estate investing may help me fulfill my need to diversify out of stocks and create a relatively passive stream of income that will help supplement my retirement and, going forward, help provide long-term for the needs of my adult autistic son.  

Lifelong Queens resident here and I was also invited to and attended the official Amazon NYC announcement at the Governor’s office on Tuesday - mind you, this was not a huge venue open to the general public; small room on the 38th Floor of his office with 50-60 movers and shakers intimately involved in the deal coming together plus the always entertaining New York press corps. - ProofHappy to share some perspective.

when I did retail real estate I suspect I only worked with 20% of the people I came into contact with the rest I just knew it was going to be frustrating for both parties but what I like about my clients most have become life long either friends investors etc.. 

Iv've been a lifelong resident of Massachusetts. 

The clause with my existing mortgage bank is that I can move out after one year of occupancy which I had fulfill.  

Otherwise you're setting yourself up for an operational nightmare and setting yourself back 25 years.I'm a lifelong hotelier - would love to see what you come up with if and when you move forward. 

Flipping houses and owning rentals are only similar in the sense that the underlying asset is property -- beyond that, they are completely different strategies that fulfill completely different investment needs.Every investment strategy requires you put in some combination of the following:- Time- Cash/Credit- ExpertiseAnd every investment strategy generates some combination of the following:- Profits- Cash Flow- Tax BenefitsWithout knowing what you have to put in and what you're looking to get out, there is no way anyone can recommend a particular path.
