Real estate license standard and laws are put in place to protect the public from unscrupulous operators like wholesalers and some states are starting to crack down on them - and I hope they do more.You'll no doubt see lots of responses slinging a load of bull crap about how they're altruistically "helping the seller" to solve a problem - but we can all see the bull crap for what it is.

Although many have done it in the past, I know they are facing a big "crackdown" right now.Escrow fees are not regulated and basically it is determined by what is usual and customary in the area (for instance Los Angeles county and Orange county could be quite different) - it is a good idea to call around.

Airbnb's pretty good at not handing over data to governments, and so it's pretty hard to crack down in my experience unless the city is very very vigilant and able to expend resources and if neighbors start reporting.
