@Dave Charron - I called Callahan's office and was told they only service Greece and Irondequiot.   

That’s all depending on whether it is knob and tube which is ancient or just older wire that didn’t have a ground.I would look at the fuse box to see if it has modern breakers and what the main service is.

This one is ancient.

But if you can find them, and suffer through their ancient query interfaces you can find what you want. 

Duplexes are ancient and most are run down, that I have seen.

Some of the plumbing is ancient and there's evidence that some parts have had to be repaired already.  

My ultimate goal is to buy a small villa in Italy, Spain or Greece and retire there.

We live in Greece, which still hasn't recovered from the economic crisis,,, probably never will.The constant austerity measures, with the necessary wage and pension cuts, has made retirement something to dread instead of something to look forward to.   

Also of note:  the door to the lobby from the mudroom (first image in this post) is a nice 36" steel door with a deadbolt; the door to the lobby from the present kitchen is an ancient 30" solid wood 4-light paned door that will need to be replaced (pictured in OP).I apologize if I keep throwing up all over your ideas, Z.
