That’s all depending on whether it is knob and tube which is ancient or just older wire that didn’t have a ground.I would look at the fuse box to see if it has modern breakers and what the main service is.

We live in Greece, which still hasn't recovered from the economic crisis,,, probably never will.The constant austerity measures, with the necessary wage and pension cuts, has made retirement something to dread instead of something to look forward to.

Also of note: the door to the lobby from the mudroom (first image in this post) is a nice 36" steel door with a deadbolt; the door to the lobby from the present kitchen is an ancient 30" solid wood 4-light paned door that will need to be replaced (pictured in OP).I apologize if I keep throwing up all over your ideas, Z.
