There were some legit reasons for the one star review but some that seemed silly including airplane noise even though this is clearly stated in the listing (they indicated the noise shook the walls - I have never experienced that).  

This can be maddening. 

The inspection led to a slight decrease of agreed purchase price (from 206K to 205.5) but what really shook the boat was the first appraisal report.

I just shook my head, looked at my upper middle-class wife with a "I'm sorry this will be the last Section 8 duplex we ever own." 

Construction regulations and bureaucracy are quite maddening and that alone would eat any potential profit if you're not experienced.

Not one potential tenant understood what the heck I said when I described these benefits, they just shook their head in agreement that it was good because that's what I said was good.
