The industry claims 8-10 years, but many last longer than that based on overall water usage and quality.

Its not a violation to refuse to rent to someone based on having tattoos....or bolts sticking through your tongue, or pants 10 sizes too big, or a trashy looking car, or inappropriate dress, etc, etc, etc.
