I've found that having a totally trustworthy property management company or person is essential to remote buying, and in fact they may know of inside deals that are far better than the MLS.

It is getting harder to buy in good areas from reliable & trustworthy providers truly cash flowing turnkey properties, but still possible. 

For turnkey, it can be more important to pick a trustworthy and reliable company then it can be the particular market, which of course has to be economically healthy and cash flow possible as well.
