There are original hardwood floors underneath the nasty carpet but I think they may be too far gone to be salvaged.Unfortunately I've decided that I have to gut the bathroom.

These are expensive to work on and requires the landlord to pay for the heating of the water.A lot of the soil there is unstable and you see foundation problems at many apartment buildings.
