A DBA allows a certain level of privacy (assuming your state doesn't post them online like mine does for an easy google search).

Our privacy laws are such that any one selling such a list would have to obtain the consent from those on the list .. which just is not going to happen at a high enough rate to make a business.You either need to build your own lists by canvassing a neighbourhood; watching the papers / Royal Gazette for mortgage sales / foreclosure sales / tax sales; or Spamming an entire neighbourhood (Canada Post provides such a service).

Fix things promptly, respond to calls, and respect their privacy.

There is a 6 ft cinder-block fence around the property for privacy. 

I just feel bad for the guy or gal who's one of the unfortunate ones.And an LLC in Illinois affords almost no privacy protection.

However, I would consider (and I have done this) putting up a nice tall privacy fence to wall them off so that the unit was easier to rent for the future.

Somehow, spam texts seem even a bigger privacy violation! 

My dilemma:  I'm interested in owner-occupying a multi-family house and following some of the investment rules (1.5-2%, cap rate, etc), but how do I get pass some of the issues with location and losing some of my privacy.
