If you answer that you like Groupon, but you decided not to buy stock in it and that you wanted to start your own company called "Curton" and that events downtown are so expensive because you have to pay for parking and a babysitter when the grandparents are out of town and so on - you're not answering the actual question.Does that make sense?

In 1.5 years, I will be moving to a large university town to start a dental residency program, and I am viewing this as an opportunity to invest in my first property.

A general rule of thumb though (not a hard rule) is that if a market has a prolonged history of vacation rentals such as towns whose commerce is very dependent on tourism like beach or mountain towns, then there is a good chance than those towns have established their airBNB regulations decades ago and are likely stable.

I lived in a college town and student rentals did very well as did STRs for parents coming in to visit their children.  

Would love to come, I’ll be out of town that week but the next one I will definitely try to make it! 

I was accumulating Condos and not town houses in San Diego.  

From what I can tell, it seems like most of the very small towns in this area; tons of trailers, single family homes, no visible high rises or larger multifamily that I saw. 

I live in a very desirably town in upstate NY, refinanced at a super low rate, so will keep the house as a rental.

It is a relatively small town, and there are only a couple of PM's...otherwise I probably would've made a change long ago.
