I've know of 2 families that lost children in their family pool, would not want to have that happen where I was responisble. 

Most agents are self employed and EVERY agent has other obligations in life whether that be a w2 job, children, etc.

I mitigate risk because I have children and who knows what the feds going to do.

So parents with grown children would probably "enjoy" a slightly relaxed OO, if one of your children could take advantage of one of the units.Another rule I have not seen anyone mention is that the JADU is not permitted to be rented short term (< 30 days).

I also can't afford to own in the side of town that I'd like to be in (Cary/Apex) but can afford to rent (my children were recently accepted to schools in this area). 

Tenants are like children.

The reasons being, rent by room is technically a boarding home style of operation, think halfway house, elderly care facility, childrens home, etc. 

No women, no children, no pets. 

We have found that our properties reliably attract families with children who stay for years.

We have small children so I think the benefits would really need to outweigh the negatives to make a move like this.
