Vacancy is a normal part of the business.

It was a great crash course on the basics of a RAL business from location, staffing, patient selection, and branding.

We have built a very similar business here in Austin.

The challenge was separating business from personal relationship.

My business partner and I are looking to get into a property with cabins, tents, and RV spots on it. 

Every loan and bank will have its associated fees and cost as its the price to do business but if you see more leverage in tapping into existing equity that could very well be the case.

I am a co-host in Dallas and Waco, TX and I have an idea of what types of owners and properties I want in my co-host portfolio----and with each client/property I learn which qualities are working for my business setup or what qualities I need to be working on to upskill.

It wasn’t an easy path—in 2014, I even filed for bankruptcy while trying to launch a business.

As to structure and conflict of interest, I was initially planning to structure it as an equity fund but was told it might be more attractive to investors as a first lien debt fund and to use it as a bank for the LLCs deals.
