For example, a STR on Myrtle beach is going to stay rented compared to one in the middle of nowhere SC and a MTR within 20 miles of 3 hospitals will stay booked compared to one 50 miles away from one hospital.

As long as your research strongly suggests high demand, just do STR on both.

If anybody has links to good articles showing what items to buy for STR on Amazon, that would be helpful.

You can only count rents from STR once it shows up on your tax returns.Conventional and Non-QM both allow for STR on a non-owner occupied.

At that purchase price it seems it would be difficult to cash flow at all even with STR on both sides.

(I have a 2nd STR on the same street 1 town over which also has more interest than availability).

Source SFH deals that have an in-law suite, finished basement, or ADU that can be rented out as STR on Airbnb.

One last thing I will say, if you are planning on doing an STR on the other side, be aware of the city you are in.

I feel as though it can make a good little STR on days I'm not there.
