@Ariel G. the reason your cash flow is less affected by an RE crisis is because when people look at buying a house, they look at the maximum amount of monthly payment they can afford, then buy it.

The financial crisis made lenders pretty skittish about allegations of pushing bad mortgages onto people that couldn't afford them.If the seller knew better, he/she would let you out of the deal.

LOLthe upshot is we may see and or are going to see a drastic slow down in new construction because of this.. so again PDX has caused the exact problem they were trying to cure.. there will be NO low income housing coming on line by private developers.I suspect this will be a boon for those that already own and are not subject to the rules and yet again with no new units coming on line in a few years and growth still steady rents will rise yet again or stay very strong and this will NOT solve the high rent crisis that those in city hall are trying to fix.it really seems to me to becoming full circle.those of you who may have lived and worked in SF in the 60s and 70s probably are familiar with all the housing projects that were built in those years...

To be sure, home prices in lower-income neighborhoods are quite sensitive to economic conditions and availability of financing, so a recession or credit crisis could quickly stop (or at least delay) the positive trend.

The Mayor of L.A recently stated he would like rent control to apply to newer units too .He also recently expanded RSO with more "protections " for tenants .https://www.lamayor.org/mayor-garcetti-continues-tackle-housing-crisis-new-law-strengthening-rent-stabilization-ordinanceIt seems everytime a landlord wants to develop their property the tenants are now suing.. even with the relocation payouts being $6,000 plus per tenant .

In the letter I would also memorialize the dates and times you have previously spoken about this issue to her.This is a very direct way of handling this, but it sounds like your patience is gone and diplomatic means have not yielded satisfactory results.Also, a nice load of gravel that gets delivered and dumped right behind her car whilst parked there might also make a fun story to tell at parties...
