Here's my experience in a nutshell:Large cities STR profile: - year around bookings- shorter stays (3-4 nights)- a lot of last minute bookings- Airbnb beats vrbo/HABeach/Mountain locations STR profile:- Seasonal- Longer stays (7-10 nights)- Bookings long time in advance- vrbo/HA beats airbnb

Yes it was a little bit like that, ha ha.I think what you are referring to is called gap financing or also can be called Mezzanine financing:"If a mortgage lender told me I need more of my own cash to get a loan, I would go get a bridge loan that will give me enough funds to get approved for financing from the mortgage lender.
