Here's my experience in a nutshell:Large cities STR profile: - year around bookings- shorter stays (3-4 nights)- a lot of last minute bookings- Airbnb beats vrbo/HABeach/Mountain locations STR profile:- Seasonal- Longer stays (7-10 nights)- Bookings long time in advance- vrbo/HA beats airbnb

Ha, the worse the house is, the happier the builders are because that's less competition to buy the....dirt.

Their lease is pretty simple and the HA also recommends and encourages periodic inspections.

Yes it was a little bit like that, ha ha.I think what you are referring to is called gap financing or also can be called Mezzanine financing:"If a mortgage lender told me I need more of my own cash to get a loan, I would go get a bridge loan that will give me enough funds to get approved for financing from the mortgage lender.
