Only item I'll share is local affordable getaways (ie. driving distance to mountain/lake houses for the weekend such as the Poconos) may be more resistant than extravagant destinations that require an expensive flight and demand higher nightly rates (Hawaii for example).

If the home only had one pipe that ran to one faucet it would do what you believe it's doing in protecting the water line from freezing, but homes have multiple water destinations, kitchen sink, dishwasher, ice maker, bathtub, vanity faucet, showers, toilets etc...with multiple water line branches.That system works only as a localized system on the trunk line or water line that is in direct line from the place you have it installed, back to the water heater, there are other water lines that branch off from the water heater at some point and odds are greatly not in your favor that you're pulling the water from those lines and recirculating it.  

Being that NOLA is a tourist destination, my thought is that we can rent the place out temporarily at various points throughout the year to offset some or potentially most of our cost to purchase.

When they arrive at the new destination, there is home sweet home waiting for them ... their home travels with them. 

My company does the following: brokers, renovates then does the P.M. so in the end we get to the same destination. 

They sure don't want to hear the destination is 15 more miles ahead!
