If you have your mind made up the STR world is over saturated and you're not going to make any money at it - then that's probably true. 

Based on the number of inquiries we get every week about STRs in Big Bear, I would check very carefully about the area being over saturated....Just my .02, I don't know anything about STRs in the area, but know it's a nice place based on visits in the past.....

I live in the Athens area, and I can attest that the market is really saturated when it comes to rentals geared towards undergrads.

Is that market becoming more saturated with the influx of large apartment complexes being built?

Prices are still at record levels, mortgage rates are double what they were 1-2 years ago, and the market is saturated with people that wanted to jump on the bandwagon.

There is plenty of data on daily rates, occupancy rates, and other factors, however, it's very difficult for a "practical investor" to understand the real potential of cash on cash returns.Looming in the background are the horror stories of AirBNB burning and coming to an end, and how it's very hard to even be cash flow positive in todays market due to saturation and high interest rates.I would be happy if as many people would share a bit of solid economics of their STR investments.

Many investors see Pittsburgh as being more conducive to buy into as opposed to other more saturated markets.

I think it’s true if it’s an over saturated market that this tactic doesn’t work well but it’s always about your call to action and how to be unique.
