I thought it prudent to run some questions by the plethora of savvy investors in this community.I plan to begin now the process of finding a multi family property to house hack.

How often, and what does that process look like?

I would like to expand a bit and put some systems and processes in place and generally get a little more serious when it comes to the management side.In Brandon Turner's Book- The Book on Managing Rental Properties, in chapter 3 he talks about creating a company policy binder.

Here’s what I know so far:My father-in-law is offering to finance the property purchase, but I’m still clarifying whether that means 100% financing or if he expects a down payment.We haven't yet decided whether to purchase as individuals or through an LLC.I’m also in the process of discussing the specific terms with him (monthly payments, amortization, balloon payment, etc.).Could you share any advice or insights on what deal structure might work best in a scenario like this?

Getting that first deal under my belt with the help of a mentor would significantly accelerate the process and build my confidence.I’m a firm believer in learning by doing—trial by fire, making mistakes, and growing from them.

I'm open to suggestion regarding strategy and location and willing to put in more work for better returns, but I certainly need to grasp a better understanding of the process to get started across the border. 

Make sure you do some research on anyone you decide to work with in this process.

Once you find a good, investor-friendly realtor, the process will become a lot easier.
