What are you trying to sell?

Most people don't start looking until the the settle on the relinquished property, start earlier! 

It’s enjoyable when you buy land, subdivide it, and either hold or sell portions of it.

Typically these people are really forthcoming with info and can tell you.

The one guy I spoke with said they make money only when they sell to potential investors and they only sell new construction homes that are usually pre-leased to buyers (currently they are building in Texas state and Missouri State).

(Sale price - selling costs) -(purchase price+ purchase costs)- renovations = taxable gain.

As far as selling... you will have to disclose the problem whether you fixed it or not.

In case I have to sell or I quit running STRs I wouldn't want to be under water out the gate.
