They are here in the USA but have offices in 80 countries.

I live on the other side of the country - 3 time zones earlier than my STR, so when I have guests staying, I wake up about 6 AM my time to check my phone, to make sure I see any early morning messages or problems.

It's a big country and if you look off the beaten path you can still make money with a STR.

IMHOThere are more international students staying, I've seen it where I work (at a university), but many of the newcomers are not students and a country our size can't handle that many people in a relatively short period of time. 

There are markets around the country that provide both cash flow and appreciation.
