There was never confirmation that the tenant was going to leave or has left.

Having been involved in various industries and businesses, I’m well aware of the pitfalls, and not falling for the “get rich quick” schemes like buying Section 8 housing using gimmicky software.

However, I'd recommend discussing this with a knowledgeable mortgage broker to confirm the specfic terms based on your lender's guidelines.I once worked with a client who had a similar idea in San Diego.

@Diogo Capela can give a more detailed view on some of the legal adventures we had with this property but, to summarise, my key learnings from this deal to date: 1) Get confirmation that the entirety of the property is on the Camara (town hall) plans and fully legal.

I ain’t no lawyer (except on the Internet), so will possibly have to resort to checking with the lender (BoA) to confirm as I didn’t see anything in the contract that suggested that it closes if I’m no longer resident.James

Did you confirm the 2% annual management fee is deducted from principle prior to principle being returned? 

Anyone here can confirm that the rent from section 8 is close to the payment standards for the respective zip codes?

This was also confirmed when I went there to submit the required documents, but they couldn't give me a proper timeline on when it would happen claiming that they were backed up.
