I want to caution everyone against investing with Techvestor (techvestor.com) or related companies Scoutpads, Metallic Blue Development (MBD) and Superhost Labs.

Now that I wanted out of the contract their true colors came out and if the agent was unprofessional before he hit an all new low level.

I've been a blue collar all my life so don't get me wrong.

The blue is what is going to make thing really pop with the strong contrast of the white walls and dark colored wood.

Any other suggestions/color schemes?

It looks sharp but I do agree with @Jon Martin to add some color and that scuff really does jump out at you.You could add strips of colorful wallpaper or something on the edge of each of the stairs.

It is a much more Blue Collar area and the duplexes acquired by the investors that I have worked with, are doing well.  

But comparing rates on commercial (non standardized mortgages) is like asking what’s the price of carpeting without specifying the quality, type, color, installation, warranty or anything else.
