Typically, you get rid of ALL the mold buildup with a mix of baking soda and a toilet bowl cleaner like Lysol.

shared with my housemate whose sort of a tenantjust have the portable fridge type, have mostly perrier and other soda waters in ther though at the moment =/wouldn't do a built in either but heck, its less space, capital, and maintenance than investing in a whole wine cellarrr

It's like going to low cost mMcDonalds and wondering why the calorie value of the meal does not help you get in shape, it's because cheaper is not better if it does not align with your goals

It appears to be a caustic soda or acid.

spilled there sodas and left stiky crap and floors and walls one of the guys i friended and he quit working for them and told me the truth and politics of it all they had to get rid of old insallation before years out and new year starts so they dumped it my home!

Set a limit for groceries (you'd be surprised how much you can save over time) and don't include "extras" like soda, snacks, packaged meals, etc. 

You could also leave the black berry bushes around the perimeter as a natural fence and then spread wild flower seed and sod a small portion of the yard.
