Considering laminate, luxury vinyl and tile.

I need to do floors and buy at least 1ksqft of Luxury Vinyl Tile and another 1k sqft of Carpet.

From personal experience, is a carpet or vinyl plant flooring best? 

I would add vinyl plank flooring, energy effiecent fixtures (led bulbs,low flow shower heads, water saver toilets.)

Account Closed It totally depends on the location, class of property, when it was built and what the market will accept.Most of my stuff is class C in a smaller town so I do not over-improve but I make it nice, clean and liveable.That means new paint, vinyl plank flooring, selective cabinet upgrade or painting with new hardware (white is in these days). 

For the floors, I'm thinking about vinyl in the kitchen and bathrooms, laminate in the living rooms and common areas and carpet in the bedrooms and on the steps. 

Usually you want to paint other sections of the siding in a different color or install vinyl cedar shingle shake at the peaks with an accent color.

You can look for the signs also.Few tips:Figure out if the water lines are pvc/cpvc or galvanized by looking under the sinks .
