I did have to threaten an eviction a year or so ago and he came through and got caught up and was pretty much on time each month after that.  

The owner had a board up that he was paying taxes on and probably getting letters from the county / city threatening fines also.

But I have also heard this can just be a scare tactic from a threatened community just defending their turf.I'd like to hear what you think.

There was only one situation where a vendor yelled at me and another threatened to box his ears if he did not stop, LOL!

If it is not a huge life threatening hazard or covering a wall in the main area of the home, I highly doubt that the lender (who sounds like is already dragging their feet) will agree to lower the price (which will only start the approval process all over and delay your closing).My advice?

She threatened to take me to court over me keeping 100% of her deposit.
