When I see a recessed door like that, I would try and paint it a light, bright, color, to accentuate the entrance and make it more welcoming.

In order for a tenant to be billed separately for electricity consumption, our only recourse to ensure their unit is on a separate entrance from the utility.Fortunately, separating electricity to units is usually fairly simple and cost effective.Similarly, we learned the hard way the sub-metering water can also be a grey area - not forbidden, but without regulatory standing.

I bought a house in January and turned it into a 6 bedroom home (3 up with kitchen, 3 down with kitchen ,separate entrances).Idea was to have a student rental and I already have the 3 upstairs rooms leased as of May 1st.
