People get wealthy from RE because of long term investment, leverage, and tax benefits. 

Yeah, except that's kinda investing-guru nonsense.Cash flow will not make you wealthy.

ie, Chinese government is cracking down on cash outflow from wealthy investors...but then again, investors will find a way to funnel the money out to safe havens. - Lack of wage growth. 

Everywhere you look these days there is someone or some program that is trying to get rich by selling their "get wealthy in real estate" program for ungodly amounts of money.

If one can serve the public good and social needs of housing and in the process become wealthy, that's great, but real estate isn't a widget or commodity to push on the public just for the sake of making some whizbang salesman richer. :)

I had a tenant pay a year upfront after he had been vetted and accepted by our condo board (this was a NYC condo) - he was a very wealthy man who travelled a lot and he seemed to have automated a monthly bill like rent by paying it up front.

On top of that I am a health and fitness buff, so cooking at home allows me to eat a very healthy diet.
