In addition to those items, we fully updated the baths, all the flooring, rebuild the backyard deck (no pic), sheetrocked over the wood ceilings, tile everything else, etc. 

We're thinking of holding our current house as a rental and buying a temporary multi-family in which we can live and renovate, with the intention of eventually renovating or rebuilding this original house and returning to it, keeping the 'new' multi-family property as a rental.

There is maybe a couple feet on the side and the back of the house to the property lines, the lot is to small to rebuild so I have seen financing fall through because of that.
