I am a Realtor myself, the problem with being an agent is getting into that agent culture, thinking about listing and selling real estate as a servant (helping others), driving customers around, escorting them through houses, writing conventional contracts of sale, and forgetting about making offers on real estate for yourself.

So, first, learn real estate as your girl friend did, but pay closer attention to the basics because she has probably forgotten the hows and whys.

But some things to keep in mind are:(1) Buy right - no matter if you're in Logan Heights or Rancho Santa Fe, you want to make sure you are purchasing a deal at a discount if the purchase if for an investment property. (2) Chat with an appraiser - these guys (and girls) are perhaps the most under utilized people in the area.

I can leave to look at homes when the girls lay down for a nap and still be home for supper.

He didn't get the big stage, he had a smaller conference room off to the side, and had very attractive girls with little clothes on trying to bring people in to see his schpeel...I don't know what snake oil he was selling, but boy..how cool would it be to just yell SLEEP!
