Instead of flipping it, we rehabed it according to our taste and have since fallen in love with it.

While fully performing seems to be perferred by lenders my take is that there isn't enough "up-side" for my taste.  

Of course, that would simply be a matter of taste. 

The ones that do know we exist have a bad taste in their mouth so I would make sure people saw me as a savior instead of a leech.

Putting a window in tastefully, and doing hard coat stucco that ties into the rest of the house could really make it a winner, and if the home is brick, stucco could work great if you paint the brick the same color with masonry paint. 

Their 3 office addresses are easily "findable"--- Should I send my "yellow letter" to their offices or is that in poor taste??

I'd also advise against finishing it to someone's specific tastes.  

My biggest complaint is that I am more adventurous when it comes to the ideas and he has more conservative tastes - but it works out.

Get a taste and make sure you have the appetite for this market.it is not for every one.

Sure, if you just spent $40k on a new kitchen to your peculiar tastes, don't expect all that back, but...
