Alexander RoeschmannAs much as I have dreaded seeing it, I think we are entering an era where the thin “mask” of neoclassical economics will now fade, in a de facto manner, in lieu of the influence of Modern Monetary Theory (MMT).  

I am risk adverse, from a monetary perspective, which explains why I am now a Train Operator working for the city lol.I have no large debts looming, the wife and I maybe have $4k combined across a few CC's.  

Why do people think rent is the one thing that suddenly has no monetary value and should be free?

Let the tenant know that if they block entry, you will consider it a breach of the lease and you will file for eviction in a couple of weeks when the courts open up and also seek monetary damages for any extra incurred costs from the delays. 

There are a number of reasons why you might do this but it’s usually based on achieving better terms (rate, amortization, higher proceeds, or non monetary terms).

@Kevin Stringari I have listened to interviews with one of the owners of those security deposit insurance companies and most of the time they will not pay out a claim unless you have a monetary judgement.

It might be prudent for you to figure in a monetary or other compensatory allowance for yourself since you wish to assume this risk if you choose to leave the asset vulnerable.    

Clearly, like Mike pointed out, your attempted solution of equating your reputational risk with his monetary risk didn't pan out. 

Problems that can't be reduced like "breaking a lease" has at least a monetary price through a fee to make it worth my time.

All those things bundled into one have the workings of some monetary damages.
