I gave them a credit of $150 for the troubles and told them to go get dinner of me. ---- What I'm wondering is, is that normal?

Hey All, If anyone out there in the community fits the title description, id love to buy lunch, dinner or coffee and gain some knowledge.

@Stephen HuffMy points:The OP is not even a member of the HOA (and never will be, his parents MAY become members)The OP knows there is a wet spot on the carpet the size of a dinner plateThe OP has not paid for an inspector and I would guess has no inspection report, he is relying on the word "Mold" which is passed through a seller and two agents, where a report could say "discoloration" or "Mildew".

SO---ARGUABLY, and it's true too---almost everything we do can be traced back to some sort of activity on one of those two business pursuits -  lunch with client, assistant, or prospect.... and dinner/drinks with the band or promoter. 

I had a birthday dinner popped up on me I was obligated!

I use that money for misc expenses or the tenant just bought me dinner as a thank you for giving them more time. 

That's one way to have one less guest at Thanksgiving dinner--don't discuss fees/payment with your relative for their time/effort on your behalf. 

There's no real winning with wine as a gift except at a dinner party.

Pretty soon Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners don't end up the same because either you or grandma got screwed.
