I've also had realtors at showings ask people to take their shoes off (which is the norm for me) and I've had some that tell me to leave my shoes on (which I won't do).

I think I’ll still come out smelling like a rose, but if each property stands on its own then there are a handful that I definitely overspent on.

No wonder that, as mentioned in the attached article, pretty much everything is described with rose-colored glasses and there is a lack of anything negative.As far as I know, they haven't promoted a development in the Dominican Republic, in spite of the fact that it can be a great place to retire and invest.
