I looked up El Paso (Pikes Peak Regional Building Department) but I didn't see anything specific for building codes. 

But downtown Seattle with the space needle, and pike place, music venues, waterfront, hockey stadium, etc will always remain appealing to tourist in my opinion so we’re going to take the plunge and buy something as a 100% STR.

People may not like that I say this but I think that gentrification in the interior of Indy is displacing folks to the peripheries of Indy... south Lawrence, Perry township, pike, etc. 

I'm not a firm believer in either party, they're both like a runaway train going down Pikes Peak.

Colorado Springs has a lot to offer for tourism with a 1-2 hour drive to most major mountain towns / resorts, we are at the base of Pikes Peak with the Cog Railroad, and we have Garden of the Gods and Red Rocks Open Space.

You could get insight on what is coming down the pike for the local area and rumblings of new businesses going in.Wal-mart scouts sights by the way years in advance.

There are several storms each year where southeastern MA get rain while the areas north of the Mass Pike and west of 495 get snow.I drove through the waterfront area in New Bedford recently and it looks like they're really cleaning it up. 

@Chris Pike - (It’s more important to provide comps that don't work for the property, than the ones that do)Can you expand on that statement? 

A more proactive strategy might be to check with the county prior to signing the purchase agreement to ask them about any possible increase that they see coming down the pike.
